Installing the Banshee Grendels

Windows Specific

For the Windows version of the Banshee Grendels, simply double click the file you've downloaded. This file is a self-executable file, and should have the name BansheeGrendels.exe -- if not, please check at our Support site because there is a Support CDN_article there that will help you rename the file. Once you've managed to run the installer, it will prompt you to select which game you wish to install the Banshee Grendels into.

Linux Specific

For the Linux version of the Banshee Grendels, make sure you place the file BansheeGrendels.agents into your Docking Station or Creatures 3 My Agents folder. This is the same folder where you put other agents that you've downloaded from the Internet. If you place the file in the Creatures 3 My Agents folder only, then it will be available for both Creatures 3 and Docking Station -- if you have both installed. However, Creatures 3 will not be able to find the Banshee Grendels if you have only put the file into the Docking Station My Agents folder.

Important: Grendel Upgrade

Because of the improved Grendel voices, and other extra files that come along with the Banshee Grendels, there are some special instructions for installing this New Breed set. Before you begin playing with your Banshee Grendels, make sure you inject the Grendel Upgrade into the world first.

The tricky thing is, you can't inject the Grendel Upgrade into a world that has creatures or eggs in it already. So you'll need to either install the Grendel Upgrade into a fresh new world, or make sure that you've hatched all eggs and exported all your creatures before you try and inject the Grendel Upgrade into an existing world. If you don't do this, you may experience errors when you hatch Banshee Grendel eggs -- and you definitely won't be able to hear all of the improved Grendel voices.

Also, make sure you only inject the Docking Station version of the Grendel Upgrade into docked or undocked Docking Station worlds -- you can inject it via the Agent Injector in the Comms room. If you're installing into a stand-alone Creatures 3 world then you need to use the Creatures 3 version of the Upgrade, which you'll be able to find in the Creator machine in the Engineering section of the Shee Starship.

Extra Agents

There are two extra agents that come along with the Banshee Grendels -- the Random Teleporter and the Mecha-Grendel toy. These are just like any other agent you download from the Internet -- they can be injected into your worlds by using either the Creator machine (Creatures 3) or the Agent Injector (Docking Station).

Banshee Egg Stone

Just like in the Banshee Grendel Story, the Banshee Egg Stone is a new fixture which appears in the Workshop area on the Docking Station Capillata. For a Creatures 3 only world, an incomplete version of the same Egg Stone appears in the Engineering section of the Shee Ark. It is incomplete in the fact that although it smells of the Grendel home, it does not produce Banshee eggs like the one on the Capillata does. However, the normal Grendel egg maker in the Jungle Terrarium should start producing Banshee Grendels as well as normal Grendels.

The Banshee Egg Stone does not need to be installed separately, instead it is installed at the same time as the Grendel Upgrade. Like any agent, you can remove it at any time using the Agent Injector or the Creator. Removing the Egg Stone does not uninstall the rest of the Grendel Upgrade, only the stone.
